Terms of taking classes at Art House Theatre and Dance:

PAYMENT

Classes are strictly sold in half term blocks and will be invoiced in advance, invoices and classes needs to be fully paid before the term commences. If your child finishes classes part way through a half term apologies but no refunds can be given.

WHEN BRINGING YOUR CHILD TO CLASSES AT THE ART HOUSE

For group classes drop off and pickup is at the door to avoid overcrowding in the reception area. At the end of class, an Art House member of staff will see them out to their parents safety. Please ensure that you drop your child 5-10 minutes before the class starts, and pickup up on time. This helps with the smooth running of the classes and flow of people inside the building.

Please ensure that they arrive with their hair done, in the correct uniform, with just their dance bag and their dance shoes to change into in the reception area before they enter their class.

They’ll need to keep hydrated and we prioritise allowing time for them to drink in their classes, therefore please send them with a filled water bottle with a secure lid.

Term dates: 2022-2023:

Term 1- Thursday 1st September to Saturday 22nd October.

Term 1.5- Monday 31st October to Saturday 17th December.

Term 2- Wednesday 4th January to Saturday 18th February.

Term 2.5- Monday 27th February to Saturday 1st April.

Term 3- Monday 17th April to Saturday 27th May.

Term 3.5- Monday 5th June to Saturday 29th July.

We will also be closed for all bank holidays.

UNIFORM POLICY:

All our uniforms and footwear are to be worn so that the pupils are in clothing and shoes that are suitable for the type of dance or musical theatre that they participate in.

PLEASE NOTE: All pupils are expected to wear the correct uniforms for the relevant classes (all our uniforms are on our website). Please just send a quick message if there has been a problem and they happen to not have it for the odd class. For all secondary ages we have a 2 strikes policy, if they continue to be not in uniform after this they will not be allowed to participate in the class without the correct uniform.

ATTENDANCE

We do ask for a high level of attendance for the classes at Art House Theatre and Dance, this means the children make great progress and work well as a team. Dance is highly patterned with the dancers constantly changing positions or being involved in interactive duet and group moves, and sufficient rehearsing together adds so much to their confidence wether it’s in class, in exams, or in a performance.

In the event that catching up is needed due to low attendance, solo lessons may be needed to ensure that they don’t feel left behind, our aim is to help the children to be enjoying themselves and confident whilst learning.

CODE OF CONDUCT

* All pupils should come to classes ready to learn, and to do their best.

* all pupils are expected to be respectful to their fellow classmates and their teachers.

* Dance and musical theatre requires the pupils to practise at home, particularly when we’re coming up to a show or exams. They are learning such wonderful skills, and the more they practise the better they will be, and as a result the more confident and happy they will be in performance.

*we are very proud of our warm, welcoming, and friendly classes and studios, therefore pupils must be supportive of all others who learn at the Art House.

FINISHING CLASSES

We just ask that you give us as much notice as possible if finishing a class. A number of our classes have waiting lists and this means we can give the place to someone else. Many thanks.
