Friends don’t let friends paddle dirty water!

That’s why TVCC supports clean water and the Clean Water Act.
Clean water is essential for the enjoyment of paddlesports, critical for public health and the health of a wide range of industries, and of course — you can’t make great-tasting beer without clean water! Responsible safeguards protect us from upstream pollution and help us protect our downstream neighbors and our great rivers.

Taking the pledge is simple.

Read through each action and check off the actions you are already taking and new actions that you can commit to take. For each that you check, you will receive two tickets. Fill out the pledge online here.

Responsibly take care of my dog’s waste, especially at any TVCC function.

Snip 6-pack rings, pick up any 6-pack rings I find and take them with me. Snip or snap them before throwing them away.

Make it a royal flush! Put a plastic bottle in my toilet tank to conserve water.

Maintain my car. Check for oil leaks regularly, fix them promptly and dispose of oil or other engine fluids properly, not on the ground or into a ditch. Wash my car on my lawn or other surfaces where water can seep into the ground instead of running off into creeks.

When gardening, consider native plants that are sustainable for the environment. These require less water, fertilizers, and pesticides.

Be responsible about my water use at home — use a clean detergent, have my home septic system regularly inspected and maintained, use a basin when washing dishes, and turn off the water while brushing my teeth and/or shaving.

Try Composting!

During TVCC events, bring my own beer/drink mug.

Decrease use of disposable water bottles and increase my use of resusable water bottles.

Participate in other parts of the 2016 TVCC Conservation Challenge.
