This year, we are starting adult formation, which is once a month from October-April/May (depending on the group!) We have a Men’s Group, Women’s Group, Bible Study Group with Fr. Beerman, and Growing Deeper in Prayer with Fr. Beerman. Below are some details on each group!
1st Wednesday, Men’s Group - That Man is You, on Manhood
Join us on Wednesday evening, once a month, to learn the true nature of Manhood and what it means to be a loving husband, father, and disciple of Christ. This 4 session video series presented by That Man Is You will explore the human nature of Christ's life and how He sets an example for us to follow. We will meet from 5:30-6:30 PM in the basement of St. Augustine’s.
2nd Wednesday, The End: A Bible Study on the Book of Revelation
In this Bible study based on the talks by Scott Hahn we will cover: Who is the author of the Book of Revelation and who is it written for? What is the significance of the letters to the churches? What is the heavenly liturgy in the temple in heaven? What is the spiritual warfare described and the divine judgment? What is the meaning of the seven seals and seven trumpets? What is the Battle between the woman and her son and the dragon and the beasts? What is the marriage supper of the Lamb? How does it reveal the glory of the Catholic Church? We will meet 5:30-6:30 pm in the basement of St. Augustine’s.
3rd Wednesday, Women’s Group - The Feminine Genius
This Women's study will be on the Feminine Genius, which describes the unique spiritual qualities and gifts women posses, such as receptivity, sensitivity, generosity, and maternity. These qualities are seen as a "genius" because they enable women to contribute uniquely to society. We will meet from 5:30-6:30pm in the basement of St. Augustine's.
4th Wednesday, How to grow closer to God through Prayer and Discernment of Spirits
In this session, we will cover relational prayer, in which we find out how to listen to God and know what He is communicating to us. We will also discuss St. Ignatius’ Rules for Discernment of Spirits, including how to tell the difference between what God is saying to us and what the enemy of our soul is saying to us. We will also cover Lectio Divina, which is how to pray using Scriptures and allowing the Lord to speak to us and love us. We will meet from 5:30-6:30 pm in the basement of St. Augustine’s.
