The Diocese of Northern Michigan’s MSTYC Conference will be held on September 26 and 27 at Garden Grove Retreat Center in Garden, MI. Our theme this year is Presence and Play: Holding Space for Mutual Flourishing. Through opportunities for prayer and engaging workshops, we will explore how we can be present with the world around us as we create healing, reconciling spaces that are grounded in grace and oriented toward the creation of wholeness and love. Our theme springs from the prophet Jeremiah’s letter to the exiles in Babylon where he instructs the Israelites to bear fruit in the midst of captivity by seeking the peace of the city and fully participating in its life, for he proclaims that in seeking good for this foreign city, the captives will discover their own joy. Workshops will explore ways to focus on healing, wholeness, and presence within our bodies, within our churches, and within our communities as we move from our experience of the inward presence of Christ to the outward discovery of the ways that Christ is already moving and active within the places where we live, work, and play. The MSTYC conference is for everyone, whether they are part of an existing ministry support team; exploring how to better love God, self, and others; or simply wish to find an atmosphere of prayer, rest, and mutual support. All are very welcome!. We hope at least 2-3 people from each congregation will join us, particularly members of Ministry Support Teams and Vestries. REGISTRATIONS CLOSE 9/12.
