Hope is not a strategy, but the collective efforts of our 350+ members can help you turn that hope into a practical strategy for making it easier, safer, and more enjoyable to 'age in place' in your own home and neighborhood.

The Growing Challenges of Aging in Place is a 45-minute overview presentation that highlights the implications of a major demographic shift towards an older population and explores the "Five Pillars of Aging" needed to support that shift: housing, health & wellness, personal finance, transportation, and community/social interaction.
The Village Concept is a 15-minute introduction to an innovative organizational approach of "neighbors helping neighbors" to successfully age-in-place. It started 20 years ago in one East Coast neighborhood, and has since grown into a loose network of over 300 Villages and 40,000+ members nationwide, including our own local Avenidas Village.
Avenidas Village information packet: This packet contains detailed descriptions of the benefits and costs of joining Avenidas Village, as well as a copy or our latest Newsletter illustrating the range of programs and activities which we support.
Lower Income Membership Program: Recognizing that many neighbors in our area may be living on a modest fixed income even while enjoying the benefits of a highly appreciated home value, Avenidas Village now offers a 50% reduction in membership fees for households whose latest taxable income is below $60,000.
I would like to meet and talk with current Village members about why they joined the Village and why membership might make sense for me.
