AFRICAN HERITAGE SCHOLARS SOCIETY (AHSS) 2025–2026 SIGN-UP
Where Heritage Meets Excellence.

PICTURE DAY: DECEMBER 8th-9th

FIRST MEETING: DECEMBER 18th

The African Heritage Scholars Society (AHSS) celebrates the brilliance, leadership, and cultural legacy of students of African descent.

We are more than a club — we are a community of scholars devoted to excellence, identity, and global impact.

Through purposeful dialogue, cultural immersion, and leadership development, we aim to empower members to rise as confident, compassionate changemakers who honor their African roots while shaping the world with distinction.

OUR MISSION

To cultivate intellectual distinction, cultural confidence, and global leadership among students who are ready to stand tall in their identity and shape the future with intention.

Through high-level conversations, mentorship, travel opportunities, and cultural showcases, AHSS empowers students to:

    •    Lead with vision and influence.
    •    Honor heritage while embracing global perspectives.
    •    Excel academically and socially with confidence.
    •    Build community rooted in pride, intellect, and purpose.

THE AHSS EXPERIENCE

Joining AHSS means joining a circle of distinction — where every meeting feels like stepping into possibility.

    •    The Scholars Brunch — monthly gatherings filled with thought-provoking discussion, leadership,                          inspiration, and community connection (and yes, good food).

    •    Cultural Attire Day — an annual celebration of African excellence in fashion, art, and expression.

    •    Heritage Gala — our signature red-carpet event showcasing African culture, student talent, and academic            recognition.

    •    The Empowerment Summit — leadership workshops, guest speakers, and alumni panels on success,                    college readiness, and global impact.

    •    Travel & Exchange Opportunities — coming soon: international partnerships and study exchanges                        celebrating African innovation and identity.

This is the club everyone will wish they joined.

MEETINGS

    •    When: The third Thursday of every month during lunch. The FIRST MEETING is on DECEMBER 18th!
    •    Where: Room 173 — transformed into a “Heritage Lounge” of ideas, laughter, and leadership. Zoom                      meeting codes will be distributed as necessary.
    •    Follow-Up Sessions: Optional Friday “Community Huddles” for those working on leadership projects or                planning events
