Application: Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training - 200 Hour at The River Yoga

Thank you for your interest in​ teacher training at The River Yoga. We rely on information provided in this application to make informed decisions about your capacity to fully participate in yoga teacher training and benefit from all aspects of our program. Please answer the questions honestly and completely.

Admission into our teacher training program is based on responses to the questions below and demonstration of the following:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must demonstrate English-language competency.
- You must demonstrate medical and mental-health readiness 
- You must adhere to all policies and expectations outlined in our full Teacher Training Participant Agreement

Having a consistent vinyasa yoga practice for at least one year is strongly recommended. It is vital that this practice involve​​​ ongoing asana (movement/yoga classes) as opposed to studying only with books, videos, or in workshops.

Applicants may be denied if it is determined that his/her participation would in any way jeopardize a safe and cohesive learning environment. The River may request additional documentation and/or clinical evaluations to evaluate medical and/or mental-health preparedness.

Once we receive your application we will be in touch via email about our admissions decision.

In-order to complete your application and reserve your spot in training we require a non-refundable deposit of $500. This amount will be applied towards your total tuition.

Yoga teacher training is an extremely rewarding, but can also be physically and mentally challenging. It is helpful for our instructors to know about any physical limitations, persistent injuries, pregnancy, learning disabilities or anything else that might impact your participation in training.

Completing make hours and/or assignments will be required for all missed training sessions. Cancellation & Refund Policy *

Cancellation. In the event that the minimal registration quantity is not met, The River Yoga reserves the sole, exclusive right to cancel the Training program. However, The River Yoga will not cancel the Training once it has begun. In the event of bad weather, family emergency or illness that requires canceling a day of Training, the missed hours will be made up in a reasonable manner to be determined by The River Yoga. 

1. The student may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after signing this contract if the training has not already begun. If a contract is signed once training has started, the below refund policy applies. 

2. All refunds will be made within 30 days from the date of termination. The official date of termination or withdrawal of a student shall be determined in the following manner: 

2.1.The date on which the school receives notice of the student’s intention to discontinue the training program or the date on which the student violates published school policy, which provides for termination. 

3. Should a student fail to return from an excused leave of absence, the date following their intended return extended leave of absence or a leave of absence is the earlier of the date the school determines the student is not returning or the day following the expected return date. 

4. The student will receive a full refund of tuition and fees paid if the school discontinues a course/program within a period of time a student could have reasonably completed it, except that this provision shall not apply in the event the school ceases operation. 


Refunds. Students not accepted in the Training are entitled to all monies they paid. Teacher Training is non-refundable after 72 hours of purchase, with the exception of a $200 processing fee if a refund is requested within that time. After 72 hours, the tuition can only be transferred and must be used within two years. 


Payment Policy *

Payments must be received by The River Yoga prior to the beginning of the Training, as agreed upon by you and The River Yoga. If there are any outstanding amounts owing at the start of the Training, you will not be permitted to participate in the Training. Payment plans are available for students who enroll in advance in up to three increments, following a non-refundable deposit payment of $500. Payments must be made via ATM or credit card via Walla studio software or via check. Cash is not accepted.

Ownership of Intellectual Property *

All materials provided in connection with the Training, including, without limitation, written or printed documents, photographs, audio and video recordings and software programs, and all copies and derivative works relating thereto (the “Training Materials”), are and will remain the sole and exclusive property of The River Yoga. You have a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Training Materials to the extent necessary to complete the Training and to teach yoga classes after the Training. An example of something you are not allowed to do with the Training Materials would be to create a photocopy or reproduce the Training Materials and give it to a friend or sell it to someone; another example would be to use the Training Materials to create your own yoga teacher training program, or to provide the Training Materials to someone who intends to do so. 

Limitations of Liability  *
The River Yoga and any designated trainers and/or special guests are not liable for loss or damage to personal property or for personal injury or death resulting from acts, omissions or negligence. The River Yoga reserves the right to substitute or alter teacher training dates, trainers, schedules, and content when deemed necessary or advisable.  
Media Release  *
We think you’re incredible and would love to show you off! By being a teacher trainee at our studio and through your participation in classes and studio events, you agree to grant us the irrevocable right to use your image, likeness, photographs, video content, audio recordings of you captured in our studio or that you share with us online (via your own or others posting of you) as part of our online streaming, marketing and sales throughout the world and in perpetuity. You also release us from all claims you may have relating to the use mentioned in this section. Please let us know If you ever want us to stop using an image of you.
