ISO/ASTM standard for additively manufactured nickel-based alloys with PBF
In the last ISO/TC 261/JG 81 "Metallic materials for additive manufacturing" meeting held on 2024-09-11 in Coventry (UK), experts discussed about the development of a material standard intended to define requirements and to ensure component properties for nickel-based alloys. This document, still at an early stage, is jointly developed by ISO and ASTM organizations and will supersede ASTM F3056-21 after publication. For info, the JG 81 already works on another material standard on stainless steel alloys (316L), which will eventually supersede ASTM F3184-16.
Through the questions below, the JG 81 seeks to gauge opinions of industry and market stakeholders on the nickel alloys draft standard, and their expectations in terms of technical content (basically, what the standard should look like).

2)   How do you feel about including electron beam (in addition to laser) in the same ISO/ASTM document for nickel alloys?

3)  Would you like to be part of the development team? (Or do you know someone who might be interested?)

4)  Do you have any more comments?
