This innovative program aims to provide a fun, healthy, and eco-friendly way for our youth to get to school. A bike bus is a group of students biking to school together under the supervision of adult volunteers. It’s like a traditional school bus but on bicycles! This initiative not only promotes physical activity and environmental awareness but also builds a sense of community among our youth.
Pick-up times will start at 7am and be assigned based on school, route biking distance and abilities. Riders are responsible for being ready on time for their designated pick-up time. You will be notified of your child’s pick-up time by phone call or email.
PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS: We will be biking to and from schools from West Central. Schools included are Holmes Elementary, Yasuhara Middle School, and North Central High School.
START DATE: We will host a bike maintenance/safety training class in September that youth must participate in to join the program. First day of biking will in September as well (specific date to be determined)
TIME: Bike ride will begin before school 7am-8am (M-F) and after school 2:30pm-3:30pm (M-F)
