The Research in Teaching and Learning (RITL) group will provide a structured presentation and discussion of the article “Transforming Higher Education: A Systematic Review of Faculty Training in UDL and Its Benefits.”
RITL members will briefly introduce the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, examine the research questions posed by the authors, and review their study design, methodological choices, and conclusions. We will then engage in a group discussion focused on potential applications of the findings in our own teaching and learning contexts.
Participants who are new to UDL, or who would like a refresher, may find this short resource helpful in advance: “UDL & the Learning Brain.” You're encouraged to do the reading in advance and come with your thoughts and questions. However, if you don't have time to do the pre-reading, don't let that prevent you from joining us!
