CoRe-ACTS Smart Pebbles webinar - February 16th
CoRe-ACTS aims to assess sediment transport and coastal morphodynamics, using innovative, low-cost sensing technology that embeds RFID tags in natural pebbles. This citizen science project has the potential to empower local communities by increasing their water literacy and enabling them to actively participate in monitoring by tracking pebble movement across the beach. 

CoRe-ACTS is currently testing this technology in collaboration with local communities at Killiney Beach in Dublin. As part of our efforts to trial this method in other locations, enhance the protocol, and scaling, we are organising a short webinar to discuss how the smart pebbles work, necessary instrumentation and associated considerations and outputs. 

This webinar is aimed at any stakeholders - academia, local authorities, community groups and NGOs - who are interested in testing this technology on their pebble beaches.

Note: CoRe-ACTS is working with the limited funding provided by the EU's ScienceUs Horizon project. While we cannot provide direct funding for smart pebbles initiatives, the webinar will discuss the budget and resources required for their deployment.
