Instructions
Think back to a course or courses in which you were really challenged (high school or college). You might have been confused about content within the course, received a bad grade on a test or paper but were given a chance to improve, or felt overwhelmed by what was required to complete an independent or group assignment. Rate your level of agreement based on how you tried to solve your learning problem(s) by recording number 1 – 5 in the range between 1 = “Strongly Agree” and 5 = “Strongly Disagree.” Record the number that best represents your response in the box on the far right of each item.
In this example, the student rated the item just to the right of the center of the range (with a 3), because she believed she uses this strategy to help overcome problems with courses, but she does not use it all that frequently.
Example: I set goals for myself to help overcome challenges. Strongly Disagree ••••••• Strongly Agree 3
