The Basis of Our Unity
God desires His people to be passionately united. Unity comes as we agree together concerning what we believe and what we are to accomplish on this earth for the sake of His kingdom.
What we believe:
God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.
We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Last Things
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

As people join the crowd of Christ-followers, they are challenged to be vitally connected to Christ and to each other. Connection is best facilitated in small groups where everyone can experience true community. In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all peoples...baptize them...teach them...." The Church is the context ordained by God for disciples to be made, and it is within the context of small groups that this truly takes place.

Veritas places a high value on celebrating and exalting Jesus Christ! Every weekend people gather to offer sincere worship and listen to Biblical teaching. We believe celebration is most fully experienced in the context of a crowd of Christ followers who come together for that specific purpose.

My Commitment
Knowing that God has called His people to encourage one another in the journey of faith, I agree to join with the other members of Veritas in glorifying Jesus Christ through the church. I desire to be spurred on in my own faith and to encourage the faith of others in the following areas:
I will be committed to the regular gathering of Christ-followers at Veritas (Hebrews 12:28-29).

I will actively give myself to study God's Word and to evidence my faith by becoming more like Christ in all things (2 Corinthians 3:18).
I will work to develop vital connections between myself and other members of Veritas (1 Corinthians 12:12).
I will be vitally involved in mentoring and discipleship relationships in small group contexts (Hebrews 10:24, 25).
I will follow Christ by serving others, using the time, talents and financial resources that He gives me (Mark 10:43-45; Ephesians 4:11-13).
I will seek to live my life in a way that makes the gospel attractive to unbelievers and will do my part in telling His story, both here and to the ends of the earth (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:20).
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
