We are excited to announce two new FREE Culinary Apprenticeship opportunities with Chef Zee Vassos and Chef Fabián Dominguez!
An Apprenticeship is an 8-week program that's designed to provide young people between the ages of 14 to 25 with hands-on experience and education in the culinary arts. The apprenticeship will be taking place once a week, and we are limited to a certain number of spots for each apprenticeship, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.
During these apprenticeships, you will work directly with Chefs Zee or Fabian and learn essential culinary skills, including knife techniques, recipe development, and plating presentation. You'll have the opportunity to train in a professional kitchen and gain invaluable experience that will help you pursue your culinary dreams.
No prior culinary experience is required for none of them as activities in the kitchen can be adapted for everyone.
The information on when and where is the following:
- Apprenticeship with Fabián Dominguez at Roses (Lee): Monday, March 27th to Monday, May 15th from 3-5 pm (some classes might take place at No. 10 but rides for those can be provided)
- Apprenticeship with Chef Zee Vassos at No. 10 (Great Barrington): Tuesday, March 28th to Tuesday, May 16th from 3-5 pm
At the end of our Apprenticeships, we're hosting a Culinary Dinner (Saturday, May 20th) and need your new skills to make it a success. This is an excellent opportunity to put them to the test and showcase your talent to the community. As a chef at our culinary dinner, you'll have the chance to work side by side with some of our best professional chefs in the area, plan and execute a menu, and help raise funds to keep RSYP growing! This is the perfect opportunity to gain invaluable experience and add an impressive accomplishment to your resume.
As part of the culinary dinner, we will be featuring an ice cream truck which means you can not only enjoy some delicious frozen treats that day but also learn how to make them from scratch. That's right, we will be offering a hands-on ice cream making experience where you can create your own unique flavors and toppings.
Our talented chef from Supreme Soft Serve will be guiding you through the entire process, from choosing the ingredients to mixing, churning, and freezing. You'll learn all the tips and tricks for making the perfect ice cream and discover how to add your own creative twist to classic recipes.
Dates for these classes are to be determined but they will either take place on a Monday or Tuesday on the same time frame.
