THE AFRICAN AMERICAN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LEADERSHIP FELLOWS ACADEMY (AABHLFA) IS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUAL UNIQUENESS OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE, NORMS, VALUES, AND MORALS THAT MAY BE ANTITHETICAL TO THE ORGANIZATION IN WHICH WE MAY FIND OURSELVES.

THE GOAL OF THE ACADEMY IS TO INCREASE CAPACITY FOR SERVICE DELIVERY AND TO BUILD LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PRACTITIONER WHO HAS BEEN IN THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH FIELD 1-3 YEARS BY:

- ADDRESSING LEADERSHIP SKILLS

- AWARENESS OF SYSTEMS AND WAYS TO NAVIGATE

- CREATE A MODEL FOR CULTURALLY SENSITIVE LEADERSHIP AND TREATMENT FOR AND BY AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES

- ESTABLISH A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE (COP)
