Wyllo is a brick and mortar shop located in the heart of the SoWa Art & Design District in Boston's South End. We sell curated goods from small batch women owned brands including many local artists, makers and designers. Our shop is about a 10 minute walk from Broadway on the Red Line or a 15 minute walk from Arlington on the Green line or Tufts on the Orange line.
We are a local small business and typically employ 1-2 part time shop assistants year round. If you are interested in a position, please fill out this application and we will reach out once we have an opening. Occasionally one of our employees will have a schedule/class change and we will reach out regarding a new shift opening.
Positions available:
Shop Assistant: $16-$20/per hr. Compensation depends on availability and experience working with small businesses and/or being a key holder. We enjoy working with local artists and encourage them to apply.
Our shop is open Thurs-Sundays with the following shift opportunities:
Saturday 11am-5pm beginning April 2026
* Occasional Friday or Sunday shifts are also available but we are looking for someone to take over the majority of our Saturday shifts for the Spring/Summer with opportunity to continue if desired.
General responsibilities include:
- Being attentive and communicative with customers and answering customer questions
- Checking out customers using our POS system
- Basic housekeeping duties such as keeping the display areas tidy and organized, vacuuming, and dusting
- Inventorying new products
- Assisting with in store event setup and breakdown
- Taking video and photo footage for social media
Qualifications:
The qualifications that we are looking for are individuals who are:
- Reliable, especially when it comes to showing up for your shifts on time and not calling out without finding proper coverage.
- Friendly and attentive. You are comfortable greeting and talking to customers.
- Willing to learn.
- Takes initiative to work on shop projects and tidy up during down time. Can work independently. This is not a passive position where you can be on your phone/doing homework during shifts.
