2026 Pamela Waechter z”l  Jewish Communal Professional Award Nomination Form
Pamela Waechter z"l was a dedicated volunteer within and outside of the Jewish community and  worked as the Director of Annual Giving at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. Pam was killed in a shooting attack at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle on July 28, 2006. In 2007, the Federation’s Board of Directors created this award to recognize and honor a Jewish community service professional who embodies many of the leadership and service qualities that Pamela Waechter z”l brought to our community. The Federation invites you to submit a nomination for the 2026 Pamela Waechter z”l  Jewish Communal Professional Award.

Please respond to the following questions, providing specific examples to illustrate why this nominee should receive the award. Use this form to submit your responses. This should not take more than 20 minutes. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 8, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements
Nominees must have at least five years of professional experience in the Greater Seattle Jewish community and must currently be employed by a Jewish organization.

Selection Criteria
Nominees should reflect many of the qualities exemplified by Pamela Waechter z”l, including:

  • A deep personal and professional commitment to the continuity of the Jewish people
  • High standards of professionalism, including creativity, innovation, leadership, integrity, respect, kindness, inclusivity, and collaboration
  • Strong knowledge of, and dedication to, their work and the services they provide
  • Consistently exceeding standard job expectations
  • Serving as a role model for other Jewish communal professionals and/or lay leaders
  • Active engagement in the Jewish and/or broader community beyond their professional responsibilities
  • Warm, caring, and respectful interactions with peers and colleagues
  • A demonstrated commitment to going above and beyond in their role
  • Contributions and dedication that may not often receive public recognition

Nature of Award
In 2007, the Jewish Federation’s Board of Directors created this award to recognize and honor a Jewish community service professional who embodies many of the leadership and service qualities that Pamela Waechter z”l brought to our community. The award includes a $1,000 grant to be used for continuing professional education. In addition, there will be a $1,800 Chai award from an anonymous community member to be used in any way the recipient chooses.
