This form allows you to self-nominate for the DORA Steering Committee.
DORA is seeking self-nominations from individuals in Asia to fill a position for an at-large member on the DORA Steering Committee. While the Committee is international, we are only looking for individuals residing in Asia at this time to maintain the geographic distribution of our at-large members.
The Steering Committee provides guidance to the Executive Board and staff to ensure the execution of DORA’s strategic priorities. To do this, the Steering Committee meets virtually four times per year. Because of the Steering Committee’s large size, volunteer task forces (task-and-finish working groups made up of a subset of Steering Committee members) are frequently created for projects, activities, and objectives. More information about the committee and its operation can be found in DORA’s governance procedures.
Evaluation Criteria
Self-nominations will be reviewed by members of the DORA steering committee. The ideal candidate demonstrates a willingness to improve research culture, provides a balance to the experiences and strengths of the other members, and can commit to attending quarterly “virtual” meetings. Steering Committee members as much as possible reflect DORA stakeholders, including scholarly societies, publishers, funders, researchers, and universities. Self nominations from individuals with academic backgrounds in the physical sciences, social sciences and humanities are encouraged, as are self-nominations from underrepresented and minoritized scholars and early career researchers.
Self-nominations are due May 31, 2024.
