SEALASKA HERITAGE INSTITUTE VOLUNTEER POLICY AND GUIDELINES
All persons wishing to volunteer need to register ahead of the event. SHI reserves the right to accept or deny any volunteer applications at itsdiscretion. SHI cannot guarantee a volunteer opportunity for those who register at the event. Late registrations will be put on a waiting list and contacted if a volunteer opportunity becomes available. Because of liability, volunteers working independently must be over the age of 18. SHI will accept volunteers between the ages of 14-18 if they work alongside a parent/guardian. No children under the age of 14 are allowed to be with parents/guardians while they volunteer. SHI staff reserves the right to determine appropriate venues for volunteers under the age of 18. SHI staff reserves the right to refuse late requests for community service. Failure to indicate on the registration form that the volunteer is fulfilling a court-ordered requirement may result in refusal to sign off on hours. SHI staff reserves the right to relieve any volunteer from duty and to refuse signature on time verification sheets. By submitting this form you are agreeing to the waiver of liability below.
Volunteers who donate a minimum of 4 hours get a free, one-day pass and t-shirt while supplies last.
