UP Pride is the annual, system-wide Pride celebration of the LGBTQI community and allies in the University of the Philippines (UP). In 2008, it was first held in UP Diliman as an avenue to elevate the narratives and concerns of the LGBTQI people within and beyond the university. It was eventually institutionalized as an official UP Diliman event in 2016.

Pursuing inclusivity further, UP Pride commenced as a system-wide celebration last 2021. Now, all constituent universities and campuses within the UP System partake in the celebration of a united UP Pride.

This year’s UP Pride will be held from October 23 to 27, 2023 with the theme “Dangal, Husay, Pagkakapantay-Pantay.” UP Pride 2023 aims to highlight that without equality, there is no honor and excellence. With this, the event shall push for the passage of an institutionalized UP Code of Equality and Non-discrimination, along with a wide-scale, national Equality Bill.
