We are happy to welcome you to Bama Hillel, the "home away from home" for many of our Jewish students. We hope you will enjoy the extra space of our new addition and some of our great Shabbat dinners and Sunday Brunches.
We'd like you to know about other things happening at Hillel, like Challah baking every Thursday, Yoga sessions, and community service opportunities.
We also have a new program called Hillel Connections, which is a program that provides UA Jewish students opportunities to connect with surrounding Jewish communities. This program allows you to select from many options, depending on whether you are looking for a professional in your major to shadow or for a mentor. Perhaps this could lead to finding a summer internship or job in your major. We also connect students with a “family friend”, which is a local Jewish family, to be a resource for local information as well as to welcome you for dinner once or twice a semester. These families live in Birmingham or Tuscaloosa and are excited to share Jewish life in the South. Please consider signing up so they can treat you to our southern hospitality!
