2) Remotely online, Tuesday and Wednesday evening 6:00pm-9:00pm
You can choose only ONE testing option. Spring 2026 semester testing and registration will take place beginning Monday, January 5th-Wednesday, January 7th 2026.
IN-PERSON TESTING:
- Required - A valid photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport
- Required - 3 hours for testing--9:00am-12:00pm or 6:00pm-9:00pm
- A voluntary class registration donation per semester of $50 cash or check made payable to Farmington Public Schools per student ($100 for the year)
- Adult Learning Plan (ALP) MUST be completed prior to your testing date/time. You will receive the link to complete your ALP after we receive your completed Google registration form.
THINGS TO NOTE:
- Only adult ESL students may enter the building to test in-person.
- If you are a Low Beginning English speaker, you may bring someone with you to translate the registration form, but the person will not be allowed to remain in the school during testing.
- No cell phones are allowed to be out during testing. If you bring one with you, it must be turned off and put in a pocket or purse.
ONLINE TESTING REQUIREMENTS
- A personal computer/laptop with Windows 10 or Windows 11 (NO testing on cell phones, iPads, Chromebooks or Macs or use of headphones). If you don't have one, you can borrow a laptop from the school for the year.
- A working camera on your laptop (or you can borrow a laptop from the school).
- A quiet place to test uninterrupted for 3 hours.
- A valid photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, will need to be scanned and emailed to ESL Clerk, Laura Dunn, at laura.dunn@fpsk12.net by, or on, your testing date--and you will also have to show your photo ID to the testing proctor/teacher at the beginning of your testing.
- A voluntary class registration donation of $40 per student per semester (or pre-pay $80 for the year) can be made in-person at the school office in cash or by a check made out to Farmington Public Schools and mailed to Laura Dunn, Adult ESL Clerk at Farmington Central High School, 30175 Highmeadow Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334.

WHO NEEDS TO TEST?
- All students--both returning and new--must take a reading locator and pre-test AND a listening locator and pre-test.
- Classroom assignments will be given upon completion of both tests and availability of class seats.
