NOTICE TO MEMBERS OF THE UGANDA DIASPORA IN RWANDA
The Uganda High Commission in Kigali kindly informs members of the Ugandan diaspora that the issuance of National Identity Cards is currently underway at the Chancery.
Eligible individuals are respectfully requested to book an online appointment in order to collect their National IDs from the Uganda High Commission Kigali.
Please note that this exercise applies strictly to Ugandan citizens who participated in the NIRA ID renewal and registration exercise conducted in October 2025, and who have received an automated SMS or email notification from NIRA (systems@nira.go.ug) confirming that their National ID card has been delivered to the Uganda High Commission in Kigali.
In order to ensure an orderly and efficient process, we kindly request that:
Only individuals who meet the above criteria proceed to book an appointment.
Members of the public refrain from contacting or visiting the High Commission for ID collection unless they have received the official notification from NIRA.
We further wish to emphasize that this exercise is limited exclusively to the issuance of National Identity Cards. No other NIRA-related services will be provided at this time until further notice.
N.B.: Collection of National Identity Cards is strictly in person. Individuals are not permitted to collect IDs on behalf of others, as biometric data will be captured and verified against the NIRA database in real time at the point of issuance.
Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is highly appreciated, as it will facilitate a smooth and efficient service for all eligible applicants.
