Word wall approach – students individually identify words they don’t know as they are reading, define the words, are quizzed on the words.

Teacher gives the class a list of words from the book to learn, students memorize on their own and take in-class quizzes.

Students use an individualized (go at your own pace) on-line program on your computer with definitions, context, roots, videos, etc. and then take individualized in-class quizzes (Membean program)
