The lampshade workshop is $185 and includes the following:
- 2.5/3 hour lampshade making course
- All lampshade materials (lampshade paper cut to size, lampshade rings, fittings, two types of double sided tape and objects used to tuck fabric)
- An iron and ironing board will be provided on the day but I recommend to have fabrics ironed and ready to go
- Snacks/nibbles (please provide any dietary requirements below)
- Drinks
- You will take home the skills of learning how to make a lampshade as well as your very own lampshade that you will make on the day!
You will need to bring:
- Fabric (I have options to purchase fabric that I make shades with if you don't have any of your own, please see below). If you are bringing your own fabric and you are making a medium empire lampshade you will need 45cm in height x 120cm in length. If you are making a large empire lampshade you will need 55cm in height and 135cm in length.
- Scissors
If bringing your own fabric, please note that it is probably best to go with a fabric that is a little thicker. When working with thin cotton fabrics in the past, I have found that they can crinkle over time and definitely makes the process harder when making the lampshade! I like to work with 100% linens (if ironed well) and 100% cotton. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. My email address is bucknellej@gmail.com.
Please note, I only have a limited amount of each size and fabric so first in, first served!
