Chain Lakes Wilderness Area Guided snowshoe (or hike - tbd), Saturday, March 7, at 10 am at Hutchinson's Acres Cafe
Join Linda Hutchinson and Leonie Muldoon for a snowshoe (or hike - we'll make the call on March 5) through part of the proposed protected Chain Lakes Wilderness. Discover the fragile beauty and learn about the species at risk that makes this area so unique. This is an out-and-back snowshoe starting from the Anna's Maple Cafe that follows an ATV trail through the forest. This hike is a joint event organised by the Centennials* and the Blomidon Naturalists; please note that dogs are allowed on this field trip. After the hike, it is possible to purchase a lunch from the Cafe: there is a choice of soup with a bun or chili with a bun for $8.99. The Cafe also has delicious baked goods and specialty coffees/teas, and, of course, maple syrup! Normally, the Cafe is takeaway only but during the winter months, there is inside seating available for about 30 people. If you plan to stay for lunch, please remember to check the appropriate box in the lunch question below. Please note this hike is dog-friendly.
Date: Saturday, March 7
Time: 10 am to noon
