Horizon Award: Best New Student Organization

This award is for the new student organization that has demonstrated excellence in programming, leadership, and overall organization enthusiasm during their first years. *Organizations are considered a “new” organization during your first two years of existence.

Award Criteria
The Horizon Award has been established to recognize the contributions of new student organizations to the Georgia Regents University community. A Horizon Organization is any organization that has been chartered for no more than two (2) academic years. The committee will consider the nomination based on the following criteria: organization activity since August 20, 2013, campus involvement, leadership development, programs/events (including number of events, quality of events, and target audience), membership recruitment and retention efforts, publicity and promotional efforts, fundraising, community service, and contributions to co-curricular life atGRU.

Organization awards may be submitted by a member of the chartered student organization being nominated or by their advisor.

Organizations that win the Horizon Award are not eligible to win the Mountaineering Award or the Ascent Award. Organizations are encouraged to apply for all awards for which they are eligible, however.
