If you are contemplating doing a senior thesis, here are the steps to follow.
Learn about what is involved by reading the “Frequently Asked Questions about Psychology 400/401” handout (available through department website), talking with faculty, and asking students currently doing theses about the pros and cons of the experience.
Talk to faculty with whom you are interested in conducting a thesis. Note that it is up to you to talk with faculty and find someone who is willing to supervise your thesis.
The department faculty will meet to discuss and confirm matches and notify you once a decision has been made.
If registration occurs before you have a confirmation regarding a thesis supervisor, register for a full load of courses not including Psych 400. After you have firm agreement, drop a course and register for Psych 400.
