Join the Taiwan Startup Movement!
(Scroll down for English version)

* 使命 *

* 不一樣 *

[Call for name, speakers, volunteers and proposals]

A global startup event, a Taiwan startup movement, by the community, for the community.

Mission: A movement across grassroots startup communities to elevate next generation leaders.

Difference:

A. It's not only an event, it's a lasting movement.
B. By the community, for the community.
C. Seen & recognized globally.
D. Driven by the next generation.
E. Community volunteers own full responsibility.
F. A platform to attract, grow & elevate next generation leaders.
G. Collaborate with other startup events to form an international startup week.
H. Run by a non-profit organization that will publish the books online, like how COSCUP does it.

2015 Theme:

1. Education and Culture: The US, EU, and Asia -- how do their different education systems and culture affect leadership building? Entrepreneurship is about "taking risk," "big risk big rewards." Which cultures favor this concept? Which cultures suppress it, and why? What educational changes are needed for Asian countries to develop more risk taking talents with strong leadership capabilities?

2. The Big Winds* of Today: Amongst recent economic movements and technology advances, where are the new big winds of today? Trends like IoT, V/AR, Gaming, O2O, eC, Fintech, Analytic, Machines, Wear and Lifestyle. Together with regulators and policy-makers taking a look into developed and emerging markets, financial institutions, alliances and future of shared economy, e.g. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), SEA, OBAOR.

*The big winds in the past like WW II and the race to space created a big wind, and brought about the Silicon Valley and Taiwan's 30 years of hitech prosperity. In the 2000, the Chinese government's determination to privatize small-medium factories and to open up trade regulations, created another big wind, and in Jack Ma's hometown Zhejiang which is dense with SMB manufacturers, was born Alibaba.

We need you:

Deadline June 11 - Propose a name for the event; we'll select up to 20 names and host an online vote on June 12
Deadline June 30 - Submit a proposal: What's your ideal startup event? What's on your wish list? How would you like to help?

- Lead a team to help host a robot competition?
- Help invite a super successful entrepreneur as speaker?
- Host an entrepreneur-only and investors-strictly-prohibited session to share & chat about fund raising experiences?
- Do a talk?
- Organize a gathering?
- Lead a team to design the venue's deco, with Taiwanese fashion and international appeal?
- Lead a team to do "twitch for talks," put up an additional screen so the audience can chat & vote in real-time about the content?
- Lead a team to organize the coolest after party ever?
- Lead a team to perform opening lighting effects and to DJ throughout the event?
- Lead a historian team to take photos & videos, and upload them online?
- Lead a team to design the event's log, website, and facebook page?
- Lead a team to organize trips for international speakers, so they can experience Taiwan's beauty, and fall in love with it?

Why help?

If your name wins the top vote, we'll offer you a free ticket and also invite you to the VIP dinner. But most important of all, you'd be able to brag forever that it was YOU who named the event!

If your proposal's selected, we'll offer you a free speaker's / volunteer's badge and also invite you to the VIP dinner. But most important of all, you'd be able to realize your dream at the event!

On the conference agenda, we'll also state under your session "brought to you by _________," and you can choose to fill in your name, or the name of your organization.

If you become a long-term volunteer, we'll add you to our FB group and chatroom, so you'd get to know other volunteers, and have influence over the event.
