We plan to run a short course on how to create an R package using the usethis and devtools packages. In the course, participants will code along with the workshop leaders to develop a basic package.

The workshop will be four 1-hour modules:

Packages in a nutshell - what a package is and why you might want to write one
Setting up your system - how to set up your Windows or Mac system for package development
Your first package - how to make version controlled package linked to a remote repository on GitHub
Package documentation - from DESCRIPTION files to pkgdown sites

Each session will be held at the same time over 4 weeks.
