Thank you for your interest in helping out SMACS for the Earth Day Fair! This year, our focus will be the chemistry of personal care products ("PCPs"-e.g. lotion, cosmetics, shampoo, etc).

Here's a description of what we will be doing:

1. Show visitors how to navigate and interpret results from the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep website (http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/), a products database that lists the ingredients in many PCPs and describes health/environmental impacts.
2. Provide information on less toxic alternatives to the most frequently used PCP ingredients.
3. Make an all-natural vegan moisturizer prior to the fair, and allow people to try it! We will also provide the recipe so that people can experiment at home.

The fair will be held on Wed, April 23rd, from 10 am-2 pm at the IM Fields. Visitors include UCLA students and staff.
