Empire Staff Application
[IMPORTANT] Please answer the questions honestly, and to the best of your ability.

The things we are looking for in Staff are:
-Mostly clean Square record (looking over the last year)
-Maturity (How you'd handle situations and interactions. We prefer applicants to be 16+, but will look at all applications regardless)
-How often you're in the game
-How often you browse the forums

We will be looking at each and every application as if this is the first time we've ever met you.

Each question is based off of real things that have happened to Staff.

Please do NOT post on the forums, message the Staff team on the site, in game, or any other location about your application. We will contact you if you have been accepted.

How do you respond?
A player you've known for a very long time appears to be having a rough day. The player starts swearing. *
This is not a normal characteristic of the player, and they have no previous history.
A player dies in the wild, and asks you if you can replace their pickaxe. *

A player is caught hacking, you get a video, and ban them for it. *
They first lie in the appeal, denying they were hacking. Then they tell you someone dear to them passed away.
A player messages you on the website, letting you know that another player is spamming an Auction. *
You check the link they give you, and it appears the player's claim is valid - the other is indeed spamming the auctions.
You notice another Staff member abusing their powers. What do you do? *

You and another Staff member have a disagreement, and are no longer feeling friendly towards each other. *
How do you handle this situation?

A player sends you a video of another player hacking. *
What do you do?
As part of the Staff team, you must remain impartial to drama. *
This means if your friend gets griefed at a wilderness outpost, and they tell you it was Player1 without any proof you must refrain from taking action.
If a player is attacking and harassing other players on the Forums, you may have to censor their posts. *
How do you feel about censoring forum posts?
As a staff member, you must not allow criticism of staff's performance influence your decisions. *
This means that, if Player1 creates a forum thread about how they think staff could do their job better, you will not allow it to influence how you treat that player in square, forums, or in-game.
Do you speak any other language besides English? *

Why do you think you would make a good staff member? *
The first rule about staff member applications is that we don't talk about staff member applications. *
Please do not ask current staff members about your pending application. Doing so COULD prevent you from being considered.
