Increasing Acquisition of Fresh Produce and Dairy Products In June 2012, Feeding America adopted a "Foods to Encourage" (F2E) standard to measure nutritional quality of the food distributed through the Feeding America network. F2E includes many foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, oatmeal, eggs, beans and lentils. You can view more info about F2E at http://healthyfoodbankhub.feedingamerica.org/?resources=foods-to-encourage Your HPNAP agency helps food insecure households eat more healthfully, and the Food Bank strives to provide your agency with more cost-effective F2E. With that in mind, the Food Bank is asking 25 HPNAP agencies to participate in setting goals to increase their F2E ordering from July 2014- June 2015 compared to the previous year. This activity is voluntary and not a requirement to receive a HPNAP food grant. However, additional incentives may be available to participating agencies, including extra funds.
