This is the application to apply for the 2026 Winter course/somatic practice group,
Transformation, beginning Monday, January 5 and continuing weekly through Monday, February 23rd from 4-6 PM PST, to be held online. Please apply by Friday, December 26th.
Framework:
This eight week course will build your capacity, embodiment and understanding of yourself, specifically as it relates to transformation from old shape to new shape, for the sake of supporting your healing and your work inside of racial, social, and environmental justice movements. Often times we can feel stuck in a current embodiment, and this course seeks to dignify what that old shape has been taking care of all along so we can transform towards our aliveness and new capacities under pressure. We practice politicized healing and we believe movement work includes all work, including care work, creative work, and support work. This group is for you if you care about working towards liberation and feel stuck inside your current embodiment.
Through individual and collective healing, we can re-generate degrees of safety in the wake of trauma and inside unsafe conditions, which will make us more powerful and effective in our movements for shared material safety.
This group is open to all. We are committed to uplifting politicized somatics inside of all communities working towards liberation and holding generative and accountable multiracial spaces. Queer, trans, black, indigenous, people of color are encouraged to apply (QTBIPOC).
This course will appreciate what has made it possible for you arrive here for transformation, and open up a range of new, embodied choices though somatic practice. We will practice listening to the body and encouraging opening towards a new shape that is sustained by action. We promise that you will leave this period of practice with a clearer sense of your own commitments, and how to support yourself in your own healing and life choices. In practice together we will generate a greater understanding of your relationship to safety as supported by boundaries that align with, and support fulfillment of our deepest longings.
Working at the level of the tissues, we will explore:
- what is my contribution in this moment and how does my body support that contribution?
- how do I want to feel the world, and to be felt by the world?
- who and what supports me to make those moves?
- how is it that I respond in relationship to pressure?
- how do boundaries support my relationship to contradiction and unanswerable questions?
- when is the time to redirect, insist, and quit? to commit or commit to commit in the future?
Practices we will be in together: Sensations and Being Present, Regenerating Safety, Blending with Safety Shaping, Resilience, Allyship, Making and Receiving Assessments, Bodywork, and Holding Contradictions.
This course is led by Ream (they/them). My work is based in my organizing experience inside of movements for racial and economic justice, including the labor movement, the struggle for a free Palestine, queer and feminist organizing, and my training within Generative Somatics and the East Bay Meditation Center.

There are additional spaces available at $350 for BIPOC participants who would not otherwise be able to participate at the other solidarity fee levels. There are several payment plans available. Please see the application below for details.

Longtime Students... note for those who’ve practiced and studied with me in the past:
Welcome to my Generative Somatics course descriptions for 2026. I will teach two online courses on Mondays from 4-6 PST. These courses build on each other, and can be taken independently. “Transformation” will be offered January and February, and “Healing” in April and May. These are intended to be much smaller, more intensive groups than ones you may have been part of in the past with me.
Racial justice somatics for white organizers. If you’ve been with me since 2020-2022, thank you for your practice. The online courses I’m leading this year will deepen what we practiced and learned during this time. I welcome you to keep practicing with me as we continue what was started in the uprisings of the summer of 2020. I’ve learned so much from practicing in politicized healing community with you. Somatics for racial justice organizing is my forever “for the sake of what” and ending white supremacy in my lifetime is my commitment.
I will continue to make offers online to forward accessible and affordable somatics for movement leaders. That said, there is always the encouragement to find us live in person. Let the body up transformation be what you need it to be.
Once you’ve been in practice with me I offer one-to-one sessions on a single session basis to work on your commitment, or any other part of the methodology you want to deepen in. I also offer the Generative Somatics ten session arc, and have offered that since 2016. These sessions are more limited in availability, and only for those with an active commitment. You are encouraged to email me and we will find a time to talk.
