Party in the City - Venue Participation Form
Thank you for your interest in Party in the City (PitC) 2020

What is Party in the City?
Party in the City will take place on Friday 17 May 2020. The night includes over 2,000 performers across 30+ venues and 3 outdoor stages. It is Bath’s largest arts event and free for everyone to attend. In 2020, PitC will take place on opening weekend of The Bath Festival. For information on The Bath Festival, please visit bathfestivals.org.uk

Where will it happen?
On the night, Bath Festivals programme and produce a night of music across 3 outdoor stages and in Bath’s historic venues, churches and museums. In addition, last year’s event saw live music venues and businesses across the city open their doors for the festival. We love working with a diverse range of venues and couldn't do this without your support.

We are a performer – how can we take part?
There is no need to fill out this application if you are looking to perform. If you are a performer, please complete the Performer Application Form - https://bit.ly/2S1TKqU

What will it cost?
Bath Festivals will receive no public funding for Party in the City 2019. The event costs our charity in excess of £20,000 in infrastructure and licencing costs to put on each year.

Once again, we will be asking the venues taking part in Party in the City to help us cover our costs by supporting our decision to request £1 donation for each Party in the City programme. Programmes will once again be a good quality, fold out programme with map and listings. We hope to re-coup our printing costs by asking people to buy them for £1. We ask that venues place the brochures in a place where they can also place a collection tin alongside the programme. We will provide the tins. Please brief your bar staff/teams and help us keep Party in the City a free event for all attending.

We will ask each venue for a contribution towards PRS costs. Party in the City is viewed as one event programmed by Bath Festivals so therefore individual PRS licences and returns don't apply to venues. More details below.

What else will I need to do?

Promote it via your usual networks, look after the performers and public at your venue. Provide staff and volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly and report back on how it all went. It is enormously helpful for us to know how Party in the City is being received by the venues taking part so please let us know! We don’t need facts and figures but your feedback on how the event went for you would be great. An idea of whether it’s good for business would also be great! We will send a follow up e-mail after the event.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards,
Louise Betts
