Fares Center at Fletcher - Student and Alumni Profiles

To capture the growing momentum around the Fares Center at Fletcher, we are launching a website that centralizes academic, extra-curricular, and professional activities in the area of Eastern Mediterranean affairs and international studies across disciplines and fields. The website will feature a Students and Alumni tab, in which we would like to profile you! You do not need to have formally declared Comparative and Regional Studies - Middle East as one of your fields of study (or have created it yourself) -- we are interested in showcasing students and alumni who were curious about the field, encountered it in their studies, research, internship, or work, and want to tell us briefly about it.

PLEASE: Write in the first person, keep your responses brief, and try to tell a story in a personable voice. This should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

Profiles may be lightly edited before publishing. Please allow us some time to get the website up and running. Not all profiles will be published at the same time, so once the site is live, keep checking back periodically to see updates from your fellow classmates and alumni. Thank you for sharing your story and for continuing to support Fletcher's Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies!

I became interested in the Eastern Mediterranean because...
When did you first become interested in the region? Why? Keep it brief, specific, and personal, if possible. Thank you!
A favorite academic moment of Regional Studies at Fletcher
Did you write a capstone on the region? Worked on a great group project? Had an amazing guest speaker in a class? This doesn't have to be in one of the designated courses - it could have been a moment of analysis in any class or academic-related endeavor. Again, please be brief and tell your story in the first person.
Favorite Fares Center-related event/guest speaker at Fletcher
Who was the speaker or what was the event? Why was this your favorite? If you are an alum, please indicate when this took place (e.g. spring 2014, fall 2012, etc.)
Regional affairs in my internship or job
For alumni, please focus on how you engage with regional affairs in your job (whether your job is specifically focused on it or not), and on how Fletcher prepared you for this. For current students, please discuss any experiences with regional analysis that you may have had in your internship.
I consent to this information being used on the Fares website, currently under development at Fletcher. *
When your profile is live, we will email you a link. Please note that not all profiles will be published at the same time, and they will be regularly updated to feature as many students and alumni as possible. Thank you!
