 2026 Saskatoon Pride Parade Application
Thank you for your interest in being part of the Saskatoon Pride Parade 2026 with the theme "Pride Grows Here!" The Parade will begin at 12:00 noon sharp on Sunday, June 28, 2026! Please note the earlier start time for the Parade this year.

Please review the following detailed information before beginning your application. The parade has limited capacity, so get your application in as early as possible. Unfortunately, applications cannot be accepted once the parade capacity is reached or after the deadline of June 12, 2026.

To gauge volunteer capacity and assist with the organization of the parade, we have two parade entry deadlines.  Applications submitted after May 15, 2026, will be charged a $50 late entry fee, and entries will not be accepted after June 12, 2026, regardless of the circumstances. 

To ensure that all parade entries align with the community values of Saskatoon Pride, all applications are subject to review and approval by the Pride Parade Values Committee, as well as assessment by our Safety and Security Committee to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators. Thorough answers to the questions below will greatly assist in having your Parade entry approved promptly. 

We encourage creativity, animation, the use of music, and alignment to the 2026 Festival theme. New entry categories have been created for people-powered float entries (see details here and within the application) and for marching bands. Prizes will be awarded in several categories yet to be determined. 

Fees have been determined based on the cost of operations for the event, ability to pay, and support of the work of Saskatoon Pride throughout the year. If you or your organization find the fees to be a barrier to entry, you may contact the Saskatoon Pride Board of Directors for a special arrangement, which may involve waiving the fee or an exchange of volunteer service for the fee.

Parade entry fees include a base amount, which is then adjusted based on the characteristics of your entry. Answers to the questions in this application will determine the entry fee you will be assessed, and that will be communicated to you by email when you receive your approval. Your application has been approved once you receive your invoice, you will be emailed an invoice and approval letter. Invoices are due within 15 days after the invoice is issued or by June 25, 2026, whichever is earliest. Invoice payments are to be made to Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. AFTER your entry receives approval and you receive an entry number.

SASKATOON PRIDE PARADE 2026 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please review the 2026 Parade Entry Terms and Conditions below. You will be required to agree to them before your application can be submitted

To participate in the 2026 Pride Parade, your entry must align with Saskatoon Pride's core values. You must also present or create an entry that meets safety and logistical requirements. All parade activities must be conducted within the law.

PARADE ACCEPTANCE
  1. Completed applications will be reviewed for appropriateness with the intent of the Parade.
  2. In the event applications are initially deemed inappropriate, they will be referred to an independent committee for review using a matrix system.
  3. Applicants will be advised within 14 days of application whether their applications have been accepted. In most cases, acceptance is a given, but no guarantees are made until our Parade Values Committee has reviewed the key values questions in this application (without knowing the identity of your group).
  4. Notifications will be made by email. 
  5. Saskatoon Pride and its contractors will make the final determination of allotted length of space in the Parade staging area and the placement order in the Parade, but please be realistic in indicating how much staging area you require.
  6. Saskatoon Pride and its contractors reserve the right to make the final determination of category of entry in order to determine Parade entry fee.
  7. Failure to pay the required Parade fee by June 25, 2026, will disqualify the entry from the Parade unless special arrangements have been made with treasurer@saskatoonpride.ca
  8. Saskatoon Pride does not warrant, guarantee, or promise expected traffic flow or attendance in any area of the Parade.
  9. First time applicants may be required to provide a Certificate of Incorporation or other form of identity for authentication. 
  10. All applications must be submitted no later than June 10, 2026. Parade capacity may have been met prior to this date, so the earlier applications are submitted the better the chance of acceptance in the Parade. Submitting by June 10th does not guarantee entry into the Parade if capacity has already be reached.
  11. If space is still available, entries received after June 10th, 2026 may be approved only at the discretion of Saskatoon Pride and its contractors.
  12. Priority will be given to 2SLGBTQAI+ serving community groups at the discretion of Saskatoon Pride and its contractors.

PAYMENT
  1. Saskatoon Pride and its contractors reserve the right to determine the final category of the Parade entrant when determining fees.
  2. Parade fees are determined by reference to the Parade Fee schedule.
  3. Organization categories are: *individuals, *community or student group, *small/medium or large non-profit/charity, *public service group or union, *political party (federal/provincial with sitting members), *political party (with no sitting members),  * municipal elected officials and candidates, *small/medium or large business.
  4. Type of entries are: #small marching unit (25 people or less), #large marching unit (more than 25 people), #people-powered unit (non-motorized float plus up to 25 marchers), (see sample photo below), #gas-powered entry (one vehicle plus marchers), 100% electric-powered entry (one vehicle plus marchers).
  5. Parade entrants will be sent an invoice by email if their application for participation in the parade is successful.
  6. Full payment must be received within 15 days of the invoice date or by June 25, 2026, whichever comes first.
  7. Cancellations received up to 30 days prior to the Parade will receive a refund of 90% of the Parade entry fee.
  8. No refunds will be made for cancellations within 30 days of the Parade.
  9. Refunds will be made within 60 days after the event.
  10. Saskatoon Pride will provide as much notice as possible in the event the Parade needs to be cancelled due to orders from the Provincial or City Medical Health Officer or due to security concerns on the advice of the Saskatoon Police Service and/or the RCMP.
  11. Parade fees are refundable in the event of a cancellation of the Parade by Saskatoon Pride.

  12. All payments are to be made to Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. AFTER your entry receives approval.

LIABILITY
  1. All Parade entrants assume all responsibility for their property, including any and all loss, theft, or damage to displays, equipment and other property while in the staging area, on the Parade route, or in the dispersal area.
  2. All property will remain under the custody and control of the Parade entrant while in transit to and from the staging area, during the Parade, and in the dispersal area.
  3. Parade entrants hereby waive any demand or claim against the City of Saskatoon, and/or Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride), its directors, contractors, employees, and volunteers.
  4. If the Parade entry includes a motorized vehicle, the driver must have a current valid motor vehicle license of the class appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven.
  5. If the Parade entry includes a motorized or non-motorized vehicle in the Parade, the entrant is strongly encouraged to examine its applicable liability insurance. Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc./Saskatoon Pride assumes no liability for accident or willful damage to or by vehicles or marchers in the Parade.
  6. The Parade entrant releases Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride), including its directors, employees, contractors, and volunteers from any liability, claim, damage, suit, costs and expenses, including without limitation legal fees and costs arising from or in connection with participation in the Parade or any part thereof, or any negligent act, error, or omission of Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride), or its directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, subcontractors, or agents.

PARADE ENTRY STANDARDS
  1. All participants are subject to all municipal, provincial, and federal laws and/or bylaws.
  2. Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited in the staging area, on the Parade route, and in the dispersal area of the Parade. Any participants found to be in violation of this condition will be removed immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities. Absolutely no smoking or vaping is allowed while participating in the Parade.
  3. Vehicles must not exceed 40 feet in length (including cab) and 10 feet in width including any attachments. No vehicle entry may exceed 15 feet above street level so as to not interfere with overhead wires.
  4. Parade entries that include more than 75 people must request approval in advance. Staging area is limited, so it is possible permission may not be granted.
  5. All structures must be firmly attached to any vehicles being used in the Parade. This is the responsibility of the Parade entrant.
  6. Single-use inflatable decorations such as balloons are strongly discouraged. Aligning with the Parade's efforts at lessening its impact on the environment, the use of compostable, recyclable, or re-usable materials when decorating is strongly encouraged. 
  7. Participants must not join or leave moving vehicles at any time during the parade stage, on the route, or in the dispersal area.
  8. Vehicular entries must be able to safely accommodate the number of people riding in/on them, including adequate room to move around.
  9. No one under the age of 12 will be permitted to ride on a vehicle without adult supervision.
  10. All passengers standing or sitting on or in a vehicle must be wearing a seatbelt, have handholds, or be behind a safety railing or other support while on the entry, including in the staging area.
  11. No riders will be allowed to ride on the edge of a vehicle. Any float with riders or articles of clothing hanging over the edge or out of a window during the parade will be subject to removal if the situation is not immediately rectified.
  12. All people riding a bicycle or motorcycle must wear proper safety equipment, including helmet, at all times.
  13. Parade entries must move at the pace dictated by the Parade coordinator and volunteer Parade marshals. Vehicles MUST maintain a safe distance of at least three car-lengths from any entry or marcher in front of them. Any routines to be performed during the Parade must be carried out while moving forward within the flow of the Parade. Failure to do so will result in a fine to be determined by Saskatoon Pride and/or an automatic exclusion from future parades. 
  14. Vehicles and motorized floats must have an escort (wheel guard) beside each wheel along the entire Parade route in order to ensure safe operations. Escorts may not ride in or on the vehicle.
  15. Handing out food and beverages (except for water and candy) is not permitted unless approved as part of a sponsorship agreement. Note: ANY swag, food, and beverages MUST be handed out, not thrown out a vehicle or off a float. This is dangerous for small children who run towards moving vehicles, and this is no longer allowed during our parade.
  16. Public nudity is prohibited. Participants may be topless if allowed by law.
  17. Animals must be leashed or otherwise restrained and must be cleaned up after. Animal handlers must ensure their safety and care at all times and particularly in the event of extreme heat or heavy rain. Failure to do so will result in the removal of the animal and handler from the Parade.
  18. No fireworks, open fire, or pyrotechnics are permitted. All vehicles must carry at least one fire extinguisher with a current inspection tag visible at all times.. Exhaust pipes near decorations must be insulated.
  19. All attention-getting devices such as sudden noisemakers, flashing/strobe lights must be approved in advance.
  20. All vehicles, floats, and participants must remain within the Parade entrant's designated staging area prior to the Parade. Failure to do so or determination that entries exceed the limitations of dimensions or number of participants on their application may result in the entry being disallowed from either entering the staging area or joining the flow of the Parade. 
  21. Distribution of literature, souvenirs, and samples must be approved in advance by Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. or its contractors. These items, if approved, must be handed to spectators and must not be thrown or tossed into the crowd.
  22. Use of confetti or ticker tape is not permitted. A cleaning charge may result from any non-conformance to items 21 or 22.
  23. Parade entrants must not distribute any literature which is hateful, violent, homophobic, transphobic, or discriminatory in any way as per the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code or the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms or anything Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) or its contractors or volunteers deem inappropriate. Contravention will result in the immediate removal of the entrant from the Parade, a fine of $5000, and a ban from future participation in any Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) event, including future Pride Parades. Violators will be reported to the Police.
  24. Parade entries MUST disperse and dismantle (if necessary) within 5 minutes of arrival in the dispersal area. Entrants are encouraged to have a plan for dispersal and to communicate it to all their participants prior to the start of the Parade.
  25. All motorized vehicles must be roadworthy, in accordance with provincial laws and regulations, when leaving the dispersal area of the Parade. 
  26. No gasoline or other fuel may be carried in or on the Parade entry.

PARADE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  1. All Parade entries must be pre-approved. Unregistered entries will not be permitted to participate in the Parade. Individual marchers not associated with a Parade entry will be given an opportunity to participate provided they do not contravene the intent of any entry requirements.
  2. Festival sponsors who receive a parade entry as a benefit of sponsorship MUST still complete this form in order to be included in the parade line-up. No exceptions can be permitted.
  3. Individual marchers may sign up to march in the Parade on Parade day by visiting the Parade staging information booth by 11:00 am and registering. A donation (pay-what-you-can) is suggested, but non-ability to pay is not a barrier for individual participation in the Parade. 
  4. Community groups and not-for-profits receiving financial support must comply with the following: *entry may include up to two sponsor banners no larger than 4 feet by 2 feet, *signage related to the sponsor must be secondary to that of your group, *sponsors must be consistent with the mission and values of Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride). Questions concerning these items must be resolved with Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) PRIOR to Parade day.
  5. All entries must be clearly identified with the name of the business or organization and must carry the provided ID slotting card in a visible location on their vehicle entry or banner. 
  6. All entries must provide a unit captain/contact who will act as liaison between Saskatoon Pride and its contractors, the Parade marshals, security and first aid. Unit captains will be given an identifier which must be worn and visible at all times in the staging area, on the Parade route, and in the dispersal area of the Parade.
  7. Verbal messaging or speeches made over amplified sound (other than musical) must be pre-approved by Saskatoon Pride or its contractors or volunteers.
  8. No vehicles other than those approved for the Parade itself are permitted in the staging area.
  9. Except for minor finishing touches, entries should not be constructed or decorated in the staging area.
  10. The collection of money or exchange of items or goods for donation or payment during the Parade is strictly prohibited unless approved by Saskatoon Pride or its contractors in advance.
  11. Any changes to the Parade entry after its application is approved must be requested by June 10, 2026, and approved in writing by Saskatoon Pride or its contractors before changes are activated. 

BREACH OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  1. Any breach of the terms and conditions above may result in one or more of the following consequences: * removal from participation in the Parade, * exclusion from future Saskatoon Pride events, * fines and/or legal action to recover costs related to actions by participants, including but not limited to property damage, clean-up, security, and legal fees, * legal action related to breach of contract, trespassing, or damage.

CONSENT TO CONTACT
  1. The Parade entrant provides Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) and its contractors and volunteers consent to contact them via email or telephone or text for up to two years regarding advertising opportunities and/or application deadlines for opportunities similar to or related to the original application. The Parade entrant can be removed at any time with reasonable notice.

CONSENT TO PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOGRAPHY
  1. The Parade entrant provides Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) and its contractors and volunteers consent to take photographs, video, audio, or other recordings, which may capture the Parade entrants' name, image, voice or likeness (collectively "images"), either individually or as part of a group, in the course of or in relation to the 2026 Saskatoon Pride Parade;
  2. The right to use such images internally or externally for any and all purposes including, but not limited to to marketing, promotion, and hosting of Saskatoon Pride events;
  3. The right to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and make derivative use of the images.
  4. The Parade entrant hereby unconditionally and irrevocably agrees that no royalties, fees, or other compensation will be payable to the Parade entrant or any other person in connection with such capture and use of the images.
  5. The Parade entrant further hereby releases Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) from any and all claims which the Parade entrant may have, now or in the future, relating to ownership, use, reproduction, display, distribution, or other exploitation of the images or any materials produced by or at the direction of Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) which contain the images.

VIOLATIONS
  1. Parade entrants that violate any of the above terms and conditions may be subject to sanctions from the Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride), which may include but not be limited to: * a written warning, or in the case of an on-site incident, a verbal warming, followed up by a written incident report within 60 days after the event. The written warning may be conveyed via letter, in an email, or other means deemed appropriate by Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. The manner in which the warning is conveyed does not affect the force or effect of the warning.
  2. Immediate ejection from the Parade by Saskatoon Diversity Network Inc. (Saskatoon Pride) directors, contractors, authorized volunteers, security, or law enforcement.
  3. A violation that occurs before the Parade date may result in the entrant forfeiting their entry without refund.
  4. Past violations are considered when future Parade applications are made.
In order to keep waits to a minimum, marshalling for the Parade will take place in two stages. The first six sections of the parade will begin marshalling for vehicles at 10:00 am; non-vehicle participants may arrive any time between 10:30 am and 11:15 am. The remaining sections of the Parade will begin vehicle staging at 11:00 am, non-vehicle participants may arrive between 11:30 and noon. Due to the size of the Parade, it is essential that you and your the others in your entry observe the above times and the prescribed entry points into the staging areas. Your assistance will help make the 2026 Pride Parade a beautiful thing with safety first.

The Parade route is approximately 2 km long. Please ensure that everyone in your party are able to complete the route safely; accommodations are encouraged for those with mobility issues.
