Columbia Golf Open 2016

The annual Columbia Open is back again!

Last year, over 50 enthusiastic golfers from different schools met up at the Columbia Open. The event brought together alumni from Ivy League and other acclaimed universities a tremendously fun and competitive day resulted in long-lasting friendships. This year, we expect the crowd to be sexier, the competition fiercer, and the prize bigger!

Whether you are an individual golf player, or a member of your alumni club golf team, this will be a great chance for you to connect with golf players from other schools!

The event will open at the beautiful and luxurious CHANG GUNG GOLF CLUB on May 7.  We look forward to seeing you all on the golf course!

(2) Mulligan is only allowed to players with mulligan tickets. Mulligan tickets will be sold at the registration desk, ticket price is NT$500 and limited 2 tickets per person. Each ticket allows the attendee to redo a stroke, either for himself or instruct another player within his/her group to redo. All golfers are prohibited from blocking, persuading, mocking, or threatening Mulligan-ticket holders from using their right.  (There is a limit of one redo stroke per hole per person. If a member got a hole-in-one-shot, other members cannot ask him/her to redo.)

Awards:
Individuals:
(1) Lowest Gross Strokes Award: one champion. (If the Lowest gross Strokes Award champion is also winner of Net Stroke Award, then he/she will only get the Lowest Gross Stroke Award. If the gross stroke is the same, the player with the fewest stroke on the 18th hole wins (or the 17th hole if there is a tie for the 18th hole, etc.). If stroke numbers are the same for all 18 holes, then the champion goes to the eldest player.
(2) Lowest Net Strokes Award, calculated based on the New-New Peoria system. Among the 18 holes, 6 holes will not be counted, and a Par of 3/4/5 strokes will be counted as 5/7/9 strokes. There will be 3 winners in this award category.
(3) Skill Awards: Nearest-the-Pin, Second-Shot-Nearest-Pin, Third-Shot-Nearest-the-Pin, 2 holes for Longest Distance, for a total of 8 holes.

Group Competition:
(1) One group champion award will be given.
(2) Score points will be awarded to all group members: Par = 1 point, Birdie =3 points, Eagle = 5 Points, Double Eagle 10 Points. Each golfer will have his individual score, and the final group score will be determined by the adding the total points of the top 8 performing group members.
(3) The winner of the Group category will be the group with the highest group score. If there is a tie, then the team with the player with the fewest total strokes will be the final group winner.
