THIS IS NOW FULL
- SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE ALBUQUERQUE TRAINING DAY ON AUGUST 15
Introduction
In an increasingly uncertain time for journalists' security in the US, this safety training initiative will support local journalists and freelancers who cover stories in the US / Mexico border states. The program is aimed at journalists based in the U.S. and especially for those based in either New Mexico or Texas. We hope to run another programme next year on the Mexican side of the border.
The trainings will take place in person in Albuquerque, NM on the 15th August for a full day, and in El Paso, TX on the 18th and 19th for an intensive two-day training program. Places on the course will be allocated based on need. The training is free to participants. Limited funds for travel assistance may be available.
This project is a partnership between The Centre for Investigative Journalism and Freedom of the Press Foundation, the ACOS Alliance and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
