Feeding the 5000 is a campaign that aims to empower and inspire the global community to enact positive solutions to the global issue of food waste. We work with governments, businesses and civil society at the international level to catalyse change in social attitudes and innovative solutions necessary to tackle food waste at the global scale.

Our flagship events involve cooking up a delicious, hot lunch made entirely of ingredients that would have otherwise been wasted and serving it to thousands of the public, for free. Showcases and cooking demonstrations, as well as interacting with the public are also integral parts of these awareness-raising events.

Now Feeding the 5000 is coming to NYC! We are proud to host the first Disco Soup event in NYC on Friday 20th of September, 5-9pm, at Pier 57 (Hudson River Park at 15th St) and we need your help to pull it off! Thank you so much for your interest in lending a helping hand and being a part of this important cause. Please fill out the form below to provide us with the details of your interest in volunteering for this event.

    Your availability

We especially need volunteers for the wide array of tasks to be carried out on the day of the event itself. However, we also need some volunteers to help with preparation on the days before and to hand out flyers promoting the Disco Soup event at various locations up to a week in advance. Please let us know all the times that you are available below.
