Over 100 PTA leaders throughout the state gather in Sacramento every year to learn more about key issues facing children and families, and to meet with their elected officials at our annual Legislative Conference. This upcoming year's legislation conference will take place January 22-23, 2018.
The conference features several education and policy experts and state leaders who share insights on LCFF (Local Control Funding Formula), early education, Common Core State Standards and the new Smarter Balanced assessments and other key issues, like chronic truancy. Members then use what they have learned to speak for every child with one voice in the offices of our legislators.
Generally, we have seven to ten Arcadia PTA representatives (parents and administrators) attend every year. For the fifth consecutive year, we are looking to take two Arcadia High Students (Junior or Seniors).
