Pasko sa Kultura 2025 Parol Workshop - Monday, November 24, 2025 6-8pm at OCADU, MCA415 

Celebrate the holiday season with KAPISANAN Philippine Centre by making a parol as part of Pasko sa KULTURA 2025 programming! 

You'll learn the cultural significance of the parol (holiday star lantern) in the Philippines and then learn how to craft your own with artist and educator Maria Patricia Abuel. 

You will also have the opportunity to be part of Kislap ng Kapwa (Spark of Shared Humxnity), an art installation at Pasko sa Kultura 2025 Filipino Winter Art Festival by displaying your parol alongside parols by community members. Learn more about the festival at kultura.ca. 

Drop-in welcome if capacity is not reached. All participants must fill out this form.

All materials will be provided (bamboo sticks, tissue paper, string, etc.).
You can personalize your parol by decorating it how you like by bringing additional items to personalize your parol even further - vintage fabrics, beads, stickers, lights, etc.

My parol must be completed and given to KAPISANAN Executive Director Jose Cacho-Lim or the artist, Maria Patricia Abuel by Wednesday, December 10, 2025 if I want to be part of the art installation. 
I will receive my parol after Pasko sa Kultura 2025 with arrangements made between me and KAPISANAN Executive Director Jose Cacho-Lim or the artist, Maria Patricia Abuel.
I understand that if I do not pick up my parol from Maria Patricia Abuel by Tuesday, December 23, 2025, my parol will be recycled/disposed of.
