You have 80 000 hours in your career. How you spend these hours might be the most important moral decision of your life. Many of the worlds most pressing problems need people like you to solve them! EA career mentoring helps you find out how you can make a a difference with those 80000 hours.
EA Warwick is offering free 60-minute one-to-one career conversations, open to all students regardless of course or year. These aren't advice sessions where we tell you what to do — you know your situation far better than we will after one hour. Instead, we'll help you think through:
What you find easy to become good at, what you'd enjoy, and which problems you think matter most
How your degree and skills might apply to areas like global health, animal welfare, AI safety and emerging technologies, policy, or research
Identify hypotheses to test: we’ll identify together uncertainties and explore what internship, society activity or module would resolve that uncertainty
Concrete next steps: internships, further study, funding, or people worth talking to
Where to look next, including free professional advising from Uni Warwick Career Services, 80,000 Hours and Probably Good
We'll follow up afterwards with a short summary, any links we mentioned, and introductions where useful. If it is useful for you, we can schedule a series of chats to reflect on the hypothesis you tested and which next steps emerge from there.
If this sounds interesting, fill out the quick form below and we'll reach out to schedule a time that works for you. Coffee is on us! ☕
