Building Your Small Talk and Networking Skills: Language and Cultural Intelligence to Build Your Network
Saturday, March 19
10 am - 2:30 pm
Memorial Union, Old Madison (3rd Floor East)

This 4-hour intensive workshop is designed to enhance small talk and networking abilities for international graduate students. In this fully interactive workshop, attendees will explore language, strategies, and skills for effective communication for the small talk/networking platform. Ultimately, this will allow attendees to strengthen their networks and better represent their work, their lab, and their institution. This workshop includes skill-based practice addressing the linguistic and cultural demands that non-native speakers of English regularly experience in casual yet professional conversation at conferences and in similar settings.
