Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentee in the SGSO Network Mentorship Program. This program is built for emerging professionals in the school garden movement who want continuing consultation, coaching, and connection as they grow in the field.
As a mentee, you’ll receive direct 1-1 mentoring and join a huddle with one mentor and one other mentee for a year of peer-to-peer learning, guidance, and leadership development.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM- Cohort: 30 huddles, each with one experienced mentor and two mentees.
- Cost: Mentees pay on a sliding scale from $0 to $500, based on personal or organizational budget.
- Term length: One-year.
- Call commitment: 11 total calls across the year: 3 cohort calls, 4 quarterly mentee huddle calls, and 4 quarterly individual mentor calls.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This program is for emergent professionals in the school garden movement. You’re eligible if you meet at least one of the following:
- You are under 30 years old
- You have less than 3 years of experience working in school gardens
- You have less than 3 years in your school-garden-related role.
You should also plan to continue working within the school garden movement for the foreseeable future, and have a specific project, skill set, or area of support you’d like continuing coaching on.
This program is good for school garden professionals to either receive horizontal mentorship (support from someone with more experience in the same or similar role) or vertical mentorship (support from someone who has a different role that you would like to grow into in the future).
