Usability testing
Thank you for participating in our usability study.

We’re trying to get feedback on our library website on so we can see how it works with real students. We’re testing the website and not you, so you can’t do anything wrong. If doesn’t make sense to you, please tell us. Don't worry about our feelings.

We’re going to go through a series of tasks and take notes on your responses to figure out how we can improve it. The test should take around 10 to 15 minutes.

While you’re working, please try to think out loud—say what you're looking at, what you’re trying to accomplish, what you’re feeling. If you have questions, feel free to ask them, but we may not be able to answer them until the session is over.

(IF RECORDING): Also, with your permission we will be recording your screen and what you say. These recordings will only be used to help us figure out how to improve the site, and it won't be seen by anyone except those of us working on the project. There is nothing to connect this data to you personally--it is totally anonymous.

Do you have any questions before we begin?

NOTES FOR TESTER:
Record:
- how long it took user to accomplish tasks.
- what user said
- What did they try?
- Where did they go first?
- any other observations regarding their usage behavior.
