Welcome to the Youth Council application! We're excited to have you join and know you will enjoy learning more about your community and what YOU can do to help. As a member, you will:

1. Meet members of City Departments (Ex: Los Angeles Department of Transportation)
2. Take a District Tour where you will learn about different neighborhoods and their needs
3. Design a project on something you care about
4. Collaborate with a City Department to make your project happen
5. Meet with the Youth Council (through Zoom) once or twice a month

TO QUALIFY
1. You must live in Council District 7
(Pacoima, Sylmar, Mission Hills, North Hills, Lakeview Terrace, Shadow Hills, and Sunland-Tujunga)
2.You must be a middle or high school student
3. You must commit to meetings 1-2 times a month for 10 months
(students may be disqualified from the program after 2 missed meetings)

This is a great opportunity to build experience, add to your college application, and learn more about how you can improve your neighborhood. Applications are due September 7 at 5:00 PM. We cannot wait to see you aboard our Youth Council.
