Invitation: Family Feedback on Remote Learning for the Week of March 17-20
Dear Parents and Guardians,

Chardon Local Schools appreciates all the community has done to work with us and your child(ren) during this extraordinary time. We understand each family has many responsibilities and that this has been a week of great transition for all.

During this time of extended school closure, our mission remains high achievement for all students, and we are striving to educate students to the extent possible. We are fortunate that we have teachers and tools to make this transition to provide instruction in a remote format.

While we cannot entirely replicate the rich interactive experiences delivered in our classrooms, we believe there is value for all students in maintaining a sense of consistency and connection with their school - both with teachers and peers - and having learning opportunities during this time.

The first four days, March 17 - March 20, have served as a soft start to this remote learning time period. For both students and staff, it was a week of adapting to increased use of technology and developing a routine of establishing and maintaining teacher-to-class connections.

The week of March 23 - March 27 is Chardon Local Schools' Spring Break as originally scheduled, and there is no expectation for online instruction during this time. Remote instruction will resume on March 30.

Having concluded the initial startup week, we are considering adjustments as we continue with remote learning.

Your feedback will assist us as we move forward to the week of March 30 and any continuances of school closure as determined by our State government.

NOTE: If you have specific questions, comments, or concerns regarding your child(ren) please email your child's teacher and/or principal directly.

Also, as a general reminder, district board policies can be found on our District's webpage, including our Internet Acceptable Use Policy for students. http://www.chardon.k12.oh.us/Downloads/AUP_revised_07.pdf

Thank you for completing this survey as we continue to strive to best serve your students during this unique time of school building closure throughout our district.
