Mediators Affiliate Consultants Application Form
There are so many incredible people working in the democracy, bridging, dialogue and related spaces. The unfortunate truth is that the field is underfunded and many don't have the luxury of having full time employment or have chosen to go all-in on consulting. We are looking for 10 to 15 such people to form the core of Mediators Affiliate Consultants. Mediators Foundation has a long history of consulting, but now it's time to build off that legacy - let's build THE democracy consultancy together. We believe that while solopreneurs can do great things, we can expand our impact and the services we can offer by having group projects. You still keep your individual brand, but get to add to it the 40 year legacy and reputation of Mediators Foundation to seek work. Please share what we need to know about you as we launch this new initiative. 

Here's what to expect:
  • We will convene the Affiliates
  • Affiliates will determine the core services in partnership with Mediators and identify market opportunities.
  • The group will work to establish lean systems to identify and partner on work, along with getting to know and trust each other.
  • Mediators Foundation will provide insurance for Mediators related projects along with highlighting the great work of consultants.
  • Because these will be Mediators' fiscally sponsored projects, there will be a 15% administrative fee associated with work. For context, most traditional consulting firms retain 50 to 67% of a consultants' billable rates. We are happy to work with consultants to identify how to best cover the fee in projects.

What are your strongest offerings as a consultant?
What level of consultant do you believe you are? 
Consultants can be at many different levels, of course. Healthy organizations have a mix of principle to associate level participants. Please use the following as a guide, recognizing that there are all sorts of different consultants, so please feel free to check other as well!
  • Principal Level - Typically 10 or more years of experience along with being a lead consultant on several high-profile projects (either as a consultant or staff). Has experience leading consultant teams. 
  • Senior Level - Typically have 5+ years of relevant experience and has experience leading consultant or staff teams. 
  • Mid Level - Has worked on a number of different relevant projects, but not been a lead consultant. 
  • Associate Level - Is closer to the beginning of their consultant journey but still has experience in supporting projects.
