Without volunteers – there would be no Urkult! Every year, around 600 volunteers work together to create and run a fantastic festival. Urkult is a festival that is entirely run by people who work voluntary and who are passionate about the festival, and some work with the festival voluntarily all year round.
As a volunteer, you work either 12 hours during the festival or 16-20 hours before/after the festival.
If you work during the festival, you work your 12 hours divided into 2 or 3 shifts, so about 4 hours/day. You then receive a festival wristband (entrance for the whole festival), coffee/tea and some sweets or soup, and free camping at the scenic volunteer campsite (note: tents only).
If you work before or after the festival, you work 16-20 hours depending on what is required in the area. You then receive a festival wristband (entrance for the whole festival), food (lunch or dinner) on the day you work, and free camping at the scenic volunteer campsite (note: tents only).
When you have submitted your application via this form, you
can make requests in the list below regarding which area you want to work in.
We then try to accommodate your requests. You will then be placed in a work group, for example: "security", "entrance," or "pancake group." Each group has a group coordinator.
The group coordinator (or sometimes the volunteer coordinator) emails information and eventually a schedule to the volunteers. The schedule is usually ready about 2 weeks before the festival starts. Many group coordinators have an introductory meeting with all volunteers in their group before the work begins; if this is the case, it will also be informed in advance via email.
We require that you are completely sober during your work shifts.
Note! When you click "send," it will
say "We have received your application!" The volunteer coordinator
will contact you after June 23rd with more information. If you have submitted
your application to be a volunteer before June 23rd, you will be guaranteed a
volunteer spot.
If you have any questions send an e-mail to volontar@urkult.se
(Note, below it says E-post, there you will write the email address you want us to contact you with)
